The musical sounds of the 1950's and 1960's will once again be filling the auditorium of the Mahopac High School on Friday, May 8th as the Lake Mahopac Rotary Club will be presenting its 3rd Annual Rock and Roll Oldies Show starting at 7 PM.

Headlining this year's fundraising show for the Rotary Club will be Jay Siegel's Tokens, featuring the group's original lead singer - Jay Siegel.  In October of 1961, The Tokens recorded what has become one of the biggest hit songs of all time, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".  Their hit celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011.  "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" has enjoyed resurgence in multi-generational popularity thanks to its prominence in the long-running Broadway hit show, The Lion King.  The Tokens were inducted into the Doo Wop Hall of Fame on March 14, 2015.

Also appearing on the show will be Barbara Harris & The Toys known for their # 1 1965 song, "A Lover's Concerto".  In addition to appearances on TV's popular music shows such as "Shindig", "Hullaballo" and Dick Clark's "American Bandstand", The Toys also appeared in a movie, "It's a Bikini World", along with The Animals, The Castaways and The Gentrys.

Vito Picone & The Elegants will be making another return appearance by public demand.  The Elegants are remembered for their # 1 1958 single "Little Star", which sold more than 2.5 million copies world-wide on ABC Paramount's subsidiary label "APT".  The Elegants have appeared eight times at Radio City Music Hall, were among the initial doo wop artists to be presented at Carnegie Hall, the first doo wop group to perform at Lincoln Center, and Vito had a cameo appearance in the Oscar-winning movie, "Goodfellas" - to top the list of their many accomplishments.

The Oldies Show is being sponsored by Putnam County Savings Bank and Tompkins Mahopac Bank in addition to Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Inc., Elder Care Connection, Dwyer Agency, Spain Agency, Miceli Plumbing and Heating, Red Mills Convenience Center, Mahopac News, and Bucci Brothers Deli and Catering.
